I liked it a lot... in the last showing though, the three-episode arc (eps. 10-12 I think) with the new character who then dies... I immediately (correctly) guessed what had happened in that incident. It seemed pretty obvious, but they tried to drag it out like we shouldn't have been able to guess for much of the episode... probably the weakest part of the series there, actually. It was still more than well done enough that I didn't really care that much though... just a bit predictable, really. And it was still a good section of the story because it made sense, and showed some of the dangers of the conditioning (it was obvious because it made sense)... Also, the last episode was fantastic. Sad and tragic, of course, but really well done... and I've always loved Beethoven's 9th (one of my favorite music pieces), brillant choice... not a "happy ending", but still, a fitting one. Great show...

The reason they dragged out the explanation of Elsa's death was because that whole Elsa(being alive) episode wasn't in the manga. As for the whole series, I thought it ended too quick, but at least it didn't have a bad or absolutely insane ending.

It did end quite abruptly, but animes usually end long before they shold... yeah, a few go on and on, but that's a small minority. "It was too short" is just kind of a given I guess... and what was there was more than good enough that I didn't really mind the length. And yeah, the ending was actually good, as I said... so very, very rare for anime...

I found the Gunslinger girls show kind of depressing... But the quality of the show was pretty good. I actually liked the ending. I expected it to end in a much more depressing and dark mood. But it was simply melancholy.

Did anyone sit there trying to identify the guns they were carrying around or am I just a freak?

But other than the one minor character they didn't actually die on camera, which surprised me... I was expecting something a lot more bleak, yet they left it tragic (for what was happening to the dying one), yet happy, with their singing... Beethoven's 9th is used so many times in anime and stuff... just shows how good it is? Oh, a good contrast to that would be the last episode of Kino's Journey. So, so amazingly depressing... that was seriously one of the saddest episodes of anime I've ever seen, no question... (not quite that, but it was really, really sad...)
