Several of us were talking and we thought that it would be great fun to make an anime skit/play and video tape it (as an anime club project). How exactly we want to go about coming up with a script/plot (including which cliches we want to use) and who should be casted in which character roles, I'm not sure... But this won't be happening at least until next semester. So I figured I'd post this and see what sort of ideas people come up with for an anime parody play ... thing... So far some of the ideas that I have heard suggested for common anime cliche's are: Magical girls, Giant robots, One unlikely guy having a bunch of girls fighting over him, Exchange students Martial Arts, Odd hair color & styles (such as spiky hair) "extortion" The rest of the ideas I know of consist of various editing versions (Such as one that runs the play back wards, bad subtitles, etc...)

What about Tiny Robots?(Angelic Layer) Do they have tiny robots in many series? (I can't think of many... I end up thinking about all the shows that have monster "pets"/allies...)

We've got to get some giant swords and inner demons too. That's pretty common in some anime.
And explosions...many explosions. Hee hee hee!

Hm... we'd have to use special effects to do the "sweat drop", but we could have people falling over in exasperation. Huge swords! Explosions! sounds fun... (Course, most of these ideas would be cool to pull off and then watch...)

Hmmm. Well, judging from your reaction to the script I gave you, I should start working on some skits that are actually fun to watch -- as opposed to just stuff that mocks how bad some anime can get. (Really, though, if you watch the original version first, the "4Kids edit" jokes will make sense. I promise.)
Oh, and don't worry about the special effects. Leave those to me. [Malicious laughter.]

Some of your ideas were kind of amusing... But I think what Cassandra, Betsy and I had in mind was somthing more like S.O.S. Brigade or other entertaing and humorous stories...
There's no rush for scripts, but I figured that if people thought about it over the summer, we could all compare ideas next fall and vote on what plot people like best.
