Well, Angelic Layer turned out to be a pretty good storyline. A little cheesy sometimes, and a little too feel-good, but still I'm generally happy about it. Some fight scenes were good and some were done not so well. End consensus:

I missed the last showing, where would I find it on DC?
Anyway, Angelic Layer was an interesting twist on the 'fight' anime with a large female cast. I was worried for a bit when I saw the angels fighting in green fields in an AMV, thought the angels would come to life and gain super powers or some other crazy stupid plot point. Thankfully I was wrong.

I liked it. It was quite cute! I missed the last showing too but I borrowed it from Betsy. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll see if you can borrow it too.

Could someone give a brief description of what Angelic Layer is about? (I have not yet seen any of it...)

Could someone give a brief description of what Angelic Layer is about? (I have not yet seen any of it...) Angelic Layer is about a Misaki Suzuhara, who moves to Tokyo to live with her aunt. Leaving the Tokyo trainstation Misaki see's two robots(called Angels) fighting on a big screen. After a short burst of Icchan insanity, Icchan sets up Misaki with Haruko, her own angel. Misaki ends up being a natural Deus(Angel controller) and begins winning tournaments. The Angels are doll sized robots that can only fight if they are on a device called a Layer, hence the name of the sport and show Angelic Layer.

Pretty good show overall, I liked it... unrealistic in its "hits only count for damage when the plot/timing is right, and the amount of damage dealt depends on how much the story says should be done" instead of truly seeming like a logical fighting system (that is, a fighting system that as shown clearly followed some logical rules), but oh well, it was good anyway... all shows of that type do that kind of thing.
